However, following the announcement, a GTA 6 video was leaked from the account @Gta6trailerleak on X (formerly Twitter), which has now been suspended, forcing Rockstar Games to release the GTA 6 trailer earlier than expected.
On Monday, Rockstar Games confirmed in a post on X that the trailer for the upcoming game has been leaked and urged its users to watch the official trailer on YouTube.
“Our trailer has leaked so please watch the real thing on YouTube,” it posted.

As shown in the GTA 6 trailer above, the game heads to the state of Leonida, home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond. The game also features the franchise’s first playable female character, Lucia.
At the beginning of the trailer, Lucia can be seen in a prison who once out of jail, is seen committing crimes with her boyfriend (Jason) in Bonnie and Clyde-style in the fictional Vice City.
The official trailer confirms that GTA 6 will be out in 2025, putting all rumors to rest. Also, an official press release by Rockstar Games on Monday confirms that the game will be coming to Sony PS5 and Microsoft Xbox Series X/S consoles in 2025.
“Grand Theft Auto VI continues our efforts to push the limits of what’s possible in highly immersive, story-driven open-world experiences,” Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games, said in the press release. “We’re thrilled to be able to share this new vision with players everywhere.”
